Mahal ko ang buhay sa MTC (Week 3)
Hey everyone, how are you guys doing?? This week has flown by so fast and has been an amazing week. I've had so many crazy experiences and I never would have thought that I would love the MTC as much as I do, hence the title. Like I say every week, every day is the exact same but it's the small things every week that get me through it. Me and Elder Smith have been grinding the push ups during each of our breaks. We get 4 breaks a day so I do 50 pushups a break and 50 at night which is 250 a day. One day I was just mad because I wasn't getting the language so I did 100 a break and ended up doing 500 that day. Our schedule has finally started slowing down so I've had a lot more time to do fun stuff like play volleyball and basketball which is soooo nice. This week went by super fast because we had a lot of service opportunities. We helped the new missionaries arrive at the MTC and we did a MTC cleanse because that's what they do every year right before general conference. I'm super excited for conference for two reasons. 1: because we might bring our mattresses into our classroom and watch it in there which would be super fun. 2: because to be completely honest i've never really payed attention during conference and i've noticed how much my life has changed since if changed spiritually, so ima lock in for conference and hopefully get something good out of it.🤞
Tagalog is so hard😅
some days I feel on top of the world and some days I wanna cry. It's a rollercoaster. There are some parts of Tagalog that just make absolutely no sense to me and sometimes when I ask my teacher a question she will say "just cus". It makes me so mad hahaha. Overall I'm doing alright with the language. I can introduce myself, talk about family, hobbies, and bear my testimony. I have like a 45 second testimony memorized which is super cool. I also have the missionary purpose memorized and the first vision is almost there. Tagalog in general is just fun even tho it can be really hard sometimes. I'm so glad that I am learning a language and I'm grateful for the gift of tongues to allow me to learn the language so much every single day.
Lately I've been struggling with my testimony on the Book Of Mormon and I had an amazing experience the other day. The reason it's been so hard is because I haven't read the whole thing yet and I feel like everyone's knowledge is way better than mine. Something my teacher talked about this week is not comparing and as long as we are trying our best it will all work out in the end. me and my kasama Elder Smith have been reading it together and that's helped a lot. I had a crazy experience on Sunday where the spirit spoke to me so strongly and I'm glad that God showed me that he is here for me even when I have my doubts. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and I know that the spirit will guide me in the right direction like he did the other day.
I can't really think of much else that happened this week but I'm sure there's been so many other amazing experiences that I can't remember right now.
Love you all so much and I hope everyone is doing amazing
Miss you🫵
